This legendary Baumkuchen was baked for the first time by Maria Groch in 1819. Since then, we’ve followed the original recipe and we bake our original Baumkuchen strictly according to her instructions. Then we cover it with fondant, a delicate icing with a touch of finely grated lemon peel.
This Baumkuchen is identical to our Baumkuchen ORIGINAL 1819, but will be shipped with a special – Cottbus embossed – packaging.

Due to the thin layer of icing and a hint of lemon, our ORIGINAL COTTBUSER Baumkuchen creates a perfectly balanced, sweet-fruity experience. So for many of our customers, our Baumkuchen with fondant is their absolute favourite.
As soon as our Baumkuchen with fondant are cut open, their famous rings appear, which look like the annual growth rings of a tree. The irregular structure corresponds to their counterparts in nature and represents the time-consuming manual work we invest into each of our Baumkuchen. Each Baumkuchen is absolutely unique and consists of between ten and twenty layers.
In order to be able to guarantee the quality of our Baumkuchen, we only use high-quality raw materials. When it comes to the raw materials, quality, regionality and environmental aspects are all equally important to us. As a result, we ensure that our Baumkuchen get this excellent juicy and pleasant sweet taste.
Behind every one of our products is a human being, not a machine. The central core of our manufactory is our dedicated and highly trained confectioners, who devote the utmost care and attention to their craft using traditional manual work.
Before one of our products makes its way to its new owner, it’s checked one last time by our team and individually packaged with a lot of love.

Our Baumkuchen with fondant are alcohol-free. The alcohol you’ll see in the ingredients list is completely evaporated during the baking process because of the high temperatures. It only leaves its flavour, which is part of the distinctive taste of our ORIGINAL COTTBUSER Baumkuchen.
Due to the production, our Baumkuchen are covered from the inside with an aluminium foil, as this was previously applied to the Baumkuchen roller. You can find out more about the production of our Baumkuchen here. Further information…
Artificial preservatives are banned in our manufactory. As a result, the shelf life of our products is limited. In cool and dry storage, the minimum shelf life for this product is three weeks. Please note this with the shipping time to the planned shipping country.
